Kartini was concerned about the women fate which are became a victim of the men lying.
Although in Javanese, all men was teaching for carry out what they called “dura sembada” (meaning a lying for a righteousness), tell a lie without inflicted others, for example, when the men must be lying to his wife that he went to do an extra job in the office, but actually he was sleep with his girl friend at the hotel, ha had to lie because if he admittedly to his wife it’s a cruel.
There will be a conflict inside his heart between lying which curing and breaking heart honestly, which one you choose it…?
For Surti, of coarse she choose to swallowed a bitter pills than flee by a sugar. Whereas all pill basically was a bitter, why have to flee with a sugar….?
For others if we can flee with a sugar why swallowed a bitter pill…??!!
